In March the class and I went on a field trip to the Clark County Heritage Museum. The Museum is located in Henderson, near College and Boulder Highway. It was quite the bus trip since we were traveling from the Northwest area of Las Vegas. But the students were prepared in advanced it was going to be at least a 45 minute ride, however I did hear a few "Are we there yet?" prior to arrival.
As for the Museum, it's one of the best 4th grade field trips in the Las Vegas area.
The staff is completely organized to receive the students and have them on a rotation breaking the class into three groups. The Heritage Street portion of the tour is partly self guided, as well as the exhibit hall. The Nature Trail and the Ghost Town is guided by the staff and the education the student receive meets curriculum standards. I had prepared a Jeopardy scavenger hunt to go along with the field trip in which the students took with them to find information and answer questions, the students later collaborated on the bus ride home what they had discovered.
All in all truly a great trip!
